Cats Whiskers is a small herbaceous perennial shrub, cultivated for Java Tea on the islands of Sumatra and Java. Only the leaves are edible and are widely used for herbal teas (Java Tea) in south-east Asia. Other plant parts are toxic!

Singapore holly is an evergreen shrub. The plant is widely cultivated as an ornamental in tropical and subtropical gardens being valued especially for its compact habit and holly-like leave.

They have edible fruit – raw or cooked. They can be used in tarts, jellies and marmalades. The plant flowers and therefore fruits all year round. It is also a candidate for pruning into a bonsai and often grown in medicinal gardens where it is harvested to treat liver issues.

The Longan (Dimocarpus longan) is a large tree belonging to the same family as the Lychee and Rambutan, which can grow up to 40 m tall. It is best known for its sweet, juicy fruit which, with its semi-translucent flesh and black glossy seed. The longan fruit is mainly eaten fresh, but can also be canned or dried for easy storage and transportation.
