Singapore holly is an evergreen shrub. The plant is widely cultivated as an ornamental in tropical and subtropical gardens being valued especially for its compact habit and holly-like leave.
They have edible fruit – raw or cooked. They can be used in tarts, jellies and marmalades. The plant flowers and therefore fruits all year round. It is also a candidate for pruning into a bonsai and often grown in medicinal gardens where it is harvested to treat liver issues.
